A surprising surprise presents itself to Phoenix. He discovers that Luiz, a childhood friend, is still alive, a friend over a hundred years old, and the only certainty he has is that God must have forgotten to take him. He also discovers that it is wonderful to live, even in the present, a life like the one he knew in the past.
